A report from the far Eastern fringes of our territory....

Mark got his Beemer up and running. A 25 miler, short, sweet, but he reports it was all good. He is also dismayed to report that there is no such thing as "free air" anymore at the gas stations. They all want to charge to use their air. To think that it all started with the lunches, now it's air. Mark reports grin on his face and instant relief from chilly bonds of winter. Mark probably looked as happy as he is in this photo from Walt Ride Superior. But Tim looks way happier. Maybe because he got a better rate of exhange on his ice cream sandwich in Wawa.

It's on....

Officially, the riding season is here. Already days are wasting away. I broke out the green beast for a rear tire change and ride to the RW coffee hang out. Sure there's some sand on the road, but so what? Man up and ride it out. In fact, we're riding tomorrow. Screw you winter.

So, it's March 1 already....

and I've already chipped out a path in the layers of very compacted and frozen snow on my driveway. As many know, my driveway presents a challenge of ability when it's not frozen over. But since I am the optimistic sort, like a Coast Guard ice breaker, I am forging a channel to the road below. The neighbors don't think that I am "right" as I've also started to sweep away the accumulated sand on the sloped alleyway. With a little more help from my good friend, Mr. Sun, here's to the nearing start of the 2010 Motorcycle Season.
