New bikes and big bore kits

This followed Bernard home today..... Sazook DR650. Bery, bery nice.

And this arrived on my doorstep this morning: a B&B Cycle 351 big bore kit. That'll be a March project as I promised the Fair Marie I'd get the back room remodel done first.

The streak continues

Yep, February, you've been ridden. Was getting nervous about squeezing this one in; the two previous 40-degree days found me with other commitments. Yesterday, 25-degrees and semi-clear roads. Glad the deal is done; this morning was greeted with 4-inches of snow and it sounds like tomorrow Red Wing will get hammered with another 8-plus inches. Hope it melts because next weekend is the Pop Cycle Derby in Dennison.

Our man in the field reports from the Olympics

Unfortunately, motorcycle ice racing is not an Olympic sport, but it should be. Flat track racing would be swell in the summer time, too. But alas, we've got no pull with the Oly Committee. However, our man in the field sent a couple of bike-themed pics from South Korea.

We're glad to extend our reach internationally.

Guess the brand, and maybe I'll give you a beer.

Another blog re-design

Some times you just gotta let things fly and see what sticks. I liked the look of the recent design previous to this one but did not like the fact that readers were required to click entries to completely read them. I am more a what-you-see-is-what-you-get kinda guy anyhow, and since I generally write for the short game nowadays largely due to a flea-sized attention span, I saw no need to add an additional step in order to read this stupid blog. Who has time for that shit anyway? Hence, I have reverted to the old-style scroll as you go blog, if there can be such a description. I am trying to crap-can the blue background, but I've had too many beers to give a shit in changing it at this point anyway and may give it a go tomorrow. Or not.

Stuff to know

Forecast this Saturday is mid-30s. Prolly a good day to knockout the February ride. We've got a few guys in the club who are year-around riders and thus the streak of riding all 12 continues. Rumors are afoot  Red Wing Caribou Coffee at 11 AM.

Second, it's the Big Turn Music Fest in Red Wing. Friday and Saturday, about 100 musical acts all playing gigs at various locations in the downtown area. Perfect excuse to come south and see some great bands, singers, etc. Follow link below...

When in Paynesville, go here...

ZAP Leather and Cycle. Every so often you come across one of those old school motorcycle shops, and this place is one of them. It was a pleasure to meet proprietors Chuck and Tiff Koshiol. Chuck was swell enough to open the doors and to take the time to show me around the wonderful shop he runs with his wife, Tiff. Ordinarily, ZAP is open by appointment this time of year, but Chuck, who knows a thing or two about motorcycles, was more than enthusiastic to show me around. ZAP not only sells a lot of riding apparel, but Chuck and crew service all-manner of brands, specializing in Norton, Triumph, BSA, BMW and Ducati.  Check out the website or follow on Facebook.

Farewell, Max

Our wonderboy rider is off to Oz to study for the spring. Adelaide, to be exact. We reminded him that he is not too, too far from Phillips Island, which hosts the Australian GP, but not until next fall. But a track day is not a bad idea..... Anyhooo, we wish him well on his journey and we'll see you in July, mate.
