 Yer off my riding list, ya mofo. Of course, it's supposed to be warm this weekend. I'll be back.

So, there I was shooting a basketball game....

 ... and one thing led to another. Next thing you know, I met up with this guy....

A chance encounter by Our Man in the Field while covering hoops in Mah'waukee. I am the champion of the cut-and-paste story telling method: from his email with the photos.

Bill Tennessen, 88, who photographs Marquette University basketball games, brought in some photos of himself when he was racing motorcycles in the 1950s.

The photo he is holding shows a 250 CC JAWA from the late 1940s when it was made in the former Czechoslovakia.

He used to race around Wisconsin and Michigan, mostly dirt track and some off-road. He broke his wrist riding back then and is no longer able to fully rotate his left hand. Orthopedic care has advanced since then. He still rides a moped. He is currently an Italian-made Harley from the 1970s. He says it's fairly rare.
