Annual motorcycle show at Convention Center in Minneapolis....
The Ironworks Motorbike Club will be there in force next Saturday as we help our good friends at the National Motorcycle Museum with some volunteer work. We will be working the afternoon shift, primarily handing out brochures, stickers and other indespensible information. Based in Anamosa, Iowa, the National Motorcycle Museum has perhaps the best collection of historic motorcycles and material anywhere in the nation. And golly gee, it's only a short stint from here. If you haven't been, GET THERE NOW.

Walt Ride 2012 taking shape.....Go West, young man
The general consensus seems to be that we should make a break for the Black Hills of South Dakota. After careful consideration, the executive board mulled over maps, charts, and diagrams drawn on cocktail napkins, and has decided that Walt Ride 2012 will be from June 15 to June 20. No superslab, this will be a backroad experience. Here is the breakdown for now:
June 15 - Red Wing to Gettysburg, SD
June 16 -Gettysburg to either Hill City or Custer (which will be used as the ride's base)
June 17 & 18 - ride the snot out of the Black Hills roads, and possible side trip to Devil's Tower in Wyoming.
June 19&20 - Head back east and for home.
We are leaning toward cost-effective hotels, i.e. - mom and pop establishments.
And this year, we have a theme for the ride: Who Is Ben Ash? And why does he have a momument in the middle of nowhere?
Highlights to include a probable stop at the geographic center of the United States near Bell Fourche, SD.
Stay turned for more details...... That is all.

Walt Ride Planning Session?
How about Saturday, Jan. 21 at Smokey Row? This is probably something we better do over coffee and not beer. Let me know.

Walt Ride 2012
Yep, it's that time to be thinking about those summer plans for riding. This year's Walt Ride, as tradition holds, will be June 15-18. Thinking about the Black Hills. Details to come.
The annual International Motorcycle Show is Feb. 3-5.....
And the Red Wing Ironworks Motorbike Club is signed up to provide some volunteer time for the National Motorcycle Museum. Details have not been finalized, but we will help with museum promotion Saturday. I signed us up for the afternoon. When I get confimation, I will let you know the details.
Thanks to Christian for hosting motorcycle movie night....
Dust To Glory was a great pick; epic documentary on the Baja 1000 race. As for the second movie, well, the committee may need to talk about that one. Ahem. Anyway, next up is Motorcycle Movie Night at Rob's on Feb. 11. He's got a good movie all cued up and ready to go.
