Big shout out to Aerostich for getting my Roadcrafter repaired and ready for more road battle. Two pocket zippers unfortunately went ka-put on the previous big trip out west. No worries. Both were quickly repaired with the "older" but less waterproof zipper version, which I really preferred for mojo durability. These peeps take care of the "Stich" faithful.
Not sure what is going on but in recent weeks the number of hits on this blog are growing. Thanks to all for checking in on the world's stupidest motorcycle content of random thoughts, events and stuff that really goes in no direction. On that note, more stupid stuff to look at...
Yikes. Took me a good afternoon of riding getting the feel again of this ol' bird after six weeks of Tiger 900 duty
But sadly, it ended, and the return home beckoned. Covered South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Washington (only crossed over the border as I had never been there previously), California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Close to 12,000 miles that covered some of the best roads out there. In total three close calls that included one mule deer, a dump truck that struggled with remaining on its side of the road, and one dumb-ass pot farm employee in a pickup truck who was late for work and was of the mind tail gating on a narrow road would make matters "speed along". "Damage" included replacement of one worn tire in Idaho Falls (thanks Ben's Quality Cycle); two broken Aerostich Roadcrafter pocket zippers (will be sent back under warranty for replacement, I hope) and one broken front brake lever due to stupidity on the owner's part. (Never trust gravel for using your center stand. Just saying.) I recently retired and followed my wife's best advice: "You need to do this." It is always wise to stick with the smart ones. A great trip with great company. The Tiger 900, aptly named Zaboomafo (thank you Starbucks coffee guy in San Fran for that one) will take a break and consider other riding adventures. In the meantime, more pics for your enjoyment.
