Thanks for nothing Aerostich. Though we thoroughly love your riding gear and other products; and with bated breath we wait each and every spring for the new catalog. But dang it, what does it take to make the cover? There is no shortage of trying from the members of the Red Wing Ironworks Motorbike Club. We sent in pictures that showed dog piles of dudes stacked high in front of the Ben Ash Monument in South Dakota; we've sent pictures of us crammed in over-sized Adirondack chairs from Arkansas; we sent pictures of us in front of the "welcome to" sign from Peculiar, Mo., we've sent in photos of exalted jubilation from Colorado - all while suited up in your finest creation: the Roadcrafter riding suit. What gives? Are we not good enough? Are we not special enough? Do we not ride far or hard enough? Regardless, we are a determined bunch, and someday - just someday- we're gonna make the big time.

Moto GP 2015 explained
Sorta technical, with talk of ECUs and all of that jazz. I got bored reading it, but Christian and Rob? Right up their freakin' alley. And away we go.....

Imagine that....
Little Timmy was born a day before the King of Cool - Steve McQueen himself. Oh, the things you'll learn around here. Of course, McQueen is famous for his cinematic motorcycle exploits including the famous jump over the border while being chased by angry gun totin' Nazis in the epic, "The Great Escape." (Hey Beemer freaks, in spite of it being a stolen Wehrmacht BMW, it was actually a Triumph on which he attempted his jump to safety.) And who can forget his appearance in "On Any Sunday" with Malcolm Smith. And here is our photo tribute to Steve-O, a name he probably hated being called.

After two years of suffering through winter purgatory......
.......we are finally benefiting from some decent weather. Tho the upcoming week will probably be a total turd by the looks of the weather charts, it's been dang dandy getting out for some miles this past week. About time, we say. After a day in the saddle with a good friend, nothing beats a martini at the end of the ride. Go make one now; you deserve it.
The Ninja is alive.
Our man Christian squeezed out another 20+ horsies on the Ninja 1000 with all sorts of upgrades. Test ride today down the river and back proved that:
1) the bike runs well.
2) the bike is very fast. Only a bolt of lightning is faster. But barely.
3) a good time was had by all.
4) the Stockholm Pie shop expanded it's space over the winter.
5)my Tiger now has 309 miles on the clock and can be ridden up to 6,000 RPMs.

Tigers and Ninjas spotted in Stockholm. Bad plot for a movie? Hardly, my friend. Hardly. |

Walt Ride 2015 schedule right here.
Thanks to Christian for putting this together after a beer soaked discussion at his place on Saturday.
Friday 6/5: Tim retires and we leave RW about noon, arrive at Mark's house.
Saturday 6/6: Vintage Road Races at Road America.
Sunday 6/7: Late start, ride to New Glarus. Dinner at the Glarner Stube.
Monday 6/8: Ride around New Glarus. Will not visit Minhas Brewing, except to point and laugh.
Tuesday 6/9: Ride back to RW.
There are three hotels in New Glarus, two of them will probably not appreciate us, so it's back to the Swiss Aire. I expect rooms to be about $110/night or less, as I don't see anything on the calendar for that weekend.

Squids......
God bless 'em.
Why?
Because without squids, we'd have nothing to keep ourselves entertained.
